Imperial Japanese Service Rifles

This late war Japanese Arisaka retains its Imperial Chrysanthemum stamp. Known to collectors as an "intact mum," the presence of these stamps is a real boost to these weapons' value, historical interest among collectors, and aesthetics. This particular rifle is probably gathering dust only because the shop it's in right now (July 4, 2014), caters more to shooters than collectors, and the crude manufacture of last ditch guns like this one is often wisely regarded as a warning to shooters that a weapon may be unsafe to fire.
