And Obama is right to sanction Russian arms makers.
You can bet your ass Russia supplied not only the SA-11 used to shoot down MH17, but that they supplied the entire battalion that these mobile armored anti-aircraft rocket systems depend upon -- including the training. And most likely the personnel were simply Russian military. Russians just don't hand out expensive and highly effective hardware like that out to ... well ... anyone, really. And I know this in part because I spent some time in the region when I was a young man. I've been in The Ukraine. I knew Russian Interior Ministry guys, talked to many veteran police officers and military officers, including at least one who made a drunken confession that he'd been a Soviet military advisor to the Vietnamese during the US war in Vietnam. For that matter the town I spent the most time in was Krasnodar, on the Kuban River. We were so close to the Ukraine there that the telephone exchange ran through Rostov On-The-Don. I've seen these guys, the neo Cossacks. And I'm telling you they'll roll right over any part of the Ukraine the Putin government empowers them to.
Russia will most likely snap eastern Ukraine off at the river, mid-way across the country, before this thing is over. They'll do it because they're short-sighted bullies who feel entitled to the entire region. So get your collector's rifle while you can. It could be a long wait for the next truly affordable opportunity. And don't bitch about it. The US government is right to hurt Russian interests over this bullshit.
